Privacy Policy
Last updated August 3, 2026. Effective date: August 3, 2026.
Endleaf is built to collect nothing about you. This policy explains, in plain language, what that means and the few third parties involved when you choose to sync, look up a book, or subscribe. Endleaf and this website are provided by Handler Labs LLC, a United States company, which is the "data controller" or "business" where privacy laws use those concepts. You can reach us anytime at [email protected].
The short version
Endleaf does not collect, store, or sell your personal data. Your library, ratings, reviews, notes, quotes, and reading sessions live on your device. There is no Endleaf account and no Endleaf server that holds your reading data. Our App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected."
Data stored on your device
Everything you create in Endleaf is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's on-device database. If you have iCloud enabled, Apple syncs this data to your other devices through your own private iCloud account. We cannot see it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Book lookups
When you search for a book, scan a barcode, or open the cover picker for a book already in your library, Endleaf sends only that book's title, author, or ISBN to free public catalogs (Google Books and Open Library) to fetch details and a cover. These requests do not include any account, name, or Endleaf identifier, and we do not receive or store them. Like any internet request, they necessarily expose your device's IP address to those services, whose own privacy policies govern what they do with their server logs. Covers are cached on your device.
Subscriptions
If you buy Endleaf Premium, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple. Whether your subscription is active is checked on your device using Apple's StoreKit; your subscription status is read locally on your iPhone and is not sent to Handler Labs or to any third party. We do not use any third-party subscription-management service, and no company other than Apple receives your subscription state. We never see your payment details, and no reading data is involved in this check.
What we do not do
- We do not show ads or work with ad networks.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data.
- We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
- This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics.
If you email us
The one time we handle personal information is when you choose to contact us: if you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use them only to reply and to fix the problem you raised, we do not add them to any marketing list or share them with anyone, and we delete the correspondence once it is no longer needed. This occasional support handling is the only processing Handler Labs does.
Your rights and your data
Because your data stays on your device and, if you enable iCloud, in your own private Apple iCloud account, you are always in control of it. From Settings > Your Data you can export your entire library as JSON or CSV at any time, delete any individual book, or use "Delete All Reading Data" to permanently erase every book, rating, review, reading session, quote, shelf, and goal from your device and from your iCloud. You can also delete the app itself. There is no Endleaf account to delete, because Endleaf never creates one. If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].
International privacy rights
Privacy laws around the world, including the UK GDPR, the GDPR as it applies in Norway through the EEA, the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, Canada's PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25, Brazil's LGPD, the data protection laws of Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, Japan's APPI, Singapore's PDPA, and Hong Kong's PDPO, give you rights over personal data an organization holds about you, typically including access, correction, deletion, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Because Endleaf is designed so that we hold no personal data about you, exercising these rights with us is usually immediate: there is nothing to access, correct, or delete beyond any support email you have sent, which we will confirm, correct, or delete on request at [email protected]. You always retain the right to contact the data protection authority where you live. Our designated person in charge of personal information protection and data protection contact for all jurisdictions, including for Quebec's Law 25 and Singapore's PDPA, is the Handler Labs privacy contact at [email protected].
California and other US state privacy rights
Endleaf does not collect, sell, or share personal information as those terms are used in the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or in other US state privacy laws. Your reading data stays on your device and, if you enable iCloud, in your own private Apple iCloud account that we cannot access. Book lookups send only a title, author, or ISBN, with no name, account, or identifier. Because we hold no personal information about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, delete, correct, or stop selling on request; we do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling, so there is no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" action to take. These statements apply equally to residents of every US state, including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana. If you have any question, email [email protected].
Children
Endleaf is a general-audience reading tracker and is not directed to children under 13. Endleaf has no accounts and no age gate, and it does not ask for anyone's age, name, email, or other personal information, so we do not knowingly collect personal information from children (or from any user). If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information through Endleaf, contact us at [email protected] and we will address it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" and effective date above and post the new version on this page. For any material change, we will make the update reasonably prominent on this page (and, where appropriate, note it in the app) before it takes effect. Your continued use of Endleaf after an update means you accept the current policy.
Language
This policy is written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version is authoritative and controls if there is any conflict; translations are provided for your convenience.
